Gender reveals
Two ways to do it. A daytime reveal in colored smoke, fired on your cue for the camera, or a night reveal in colored aerial shells so the answer arrives overhead in front of everyone. Either way the color is loaded by our certified crew and stays sealed until the moment.

Daylight
You do not have to wait until dark
Daytime effects are the most underused tool in event design. Colored smoke reads beautifully against an afternoon sky, daytime shells produce shape and color rather than light, and streamer effects give you a burst of texture over a crowd at two in the afternoon.
It is the right answer for gender reveals, festival programming, portrait sessions and any venue with a hard curfew that rules out a night display. A reveal held after dark can run the other way instead, with colored aerial shells carrying the answer into the sky.

One cue, four vendors, no guesswork
A finale is a coordination problem before it is a pyrotechnic one. Guests have to be outside, the music has to build, the photographer has to be in position and the couple has to be standing somewhere that works for both the camera and the safety distance.
When Signature Sparks is booked alongside another Signature Entertainment Group company — Signature DJs, Signature Photobooths or The Signature Details — all of that is written into one timeline and called over one radio channel. When it is not, we will still walk your other vendors through it.

Fireworks, honestly answered
Are fireworks even legal in Virginia?
A professional display — aerial shells, proximate fountains and cold spark units included — requires a state-certified pyrotechnician and the appropriate local permit. That is exactly what we are. We handle the certification, the permit application, the insurance certificates and the fire marshal conversation.
How much space do you need?
It depends on the effect. Proximate fountains need a modest standoff distance. Aerial shells need a measured fallout zone that scales with shell size, which is why we assess the site before quoting. Every effect is checked against your venue’s rules and the applicable fire code before it is quoted.
What if our venue has never had fireworks?
That is common, and it is our job to make it easy for them. We provide the licensing, insurance and safety documentation venues ask for, walk the site with their team, and design a display that fits the space they are comfortable with.
Can you do something during the day?
Yes. Daytime fireworks, colored smoke and streamer effects are built for afternoon light — portraits, first looks, reveals and daytime ceremonies. They read on camera in a way that night shells cannot.
Can you do a gender reveal?
Yes, and the time of day decides the method. In daylight we use colored smoke, which photographs and films far better than anything that relies on light. After dark we load colored aerial shells instead, so the answer breaks overhead. Only our crew handles the color, and it is set on site so nobody in your family has to keep a secret from a box in their trunk.
How far in advance should we book?
As early as possible. Permitting timelines vary by locality and some jurisdictions need weeks of lead time, so a display added late may not be approvable even when the date is open.
Can we book fireworks without booking a DJ?
Absolutely. Signature Sparks works as a standalone pyrotechnics company for weddings, corporate events, holiday celebrations and community shows. Booking alongside Signature DJs simply means the music and the finale are cued by the same team.
